MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M.; . ■ . \ T^vo years' probation was granted Edward William Turner, a "motopdriver, aged 32, who had pleaded guilty to stealing twenty pira of lead, worth £33, the property of Messrs. Jones and Co., Ltd. He was ordered to make restitution at th# rate o£ £1 10s a month. On a further charge of having obtained twenty pigs of lead from A. and T. Burt and Co. by means of-false pretences Turner waß convicted and ordered to come up' for ■ sentence if called upon within' the .period of his probation. _ Having previously pleaded guilty to being an; idle and : disorderly person, Dalwyn Agnes Peters, a domestic, aged 17, was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon .within Jwo years, a condition being that she remains in the Salvation Army Homo at Auckland during that period.
'-, Two first offenders for drunkenness, who spent the night in the cells, were convicted and discharged.
