ATHLETIC TOURNAMENT
The contests in connection with tho Teachers' Training College anniversary celebrations aro being continued to-day. Tho hockey and basketball events between past and present students were decided yesterday afternoon at JCarori Park.- The past students defeated the present students in the ladies' hockey match by 3 goals to 1. Missos Warn, A. Johnson, and Calsou scored for the winners, while Mrs. M. Watt scored for the losors. In the men's game past students defeated the presont students by 3 goals to • 1,. Messrs. Priestley and Paul (2) scored for the winners-, and Irwin for the losers.
The ladies' basketball match resulted in tho present students winning by 26 points to 2.
Tho tennis was played on tho Victoria University College courts this morning, following are the results (past students .mentioned first): — Ladies' singles; Mi»s Sheppard beat Miss Whisker; Miss Astle beat Miss Brown, 9-8. Ladies' doubles; Miss Shoppard and Miss Astle defeated Miss Whisker and Miss Brown. Men's doubles: W. Hay and Perkins defeated Bradley and Thomas, 9-4. _, Clark 'and Hoben defeated Paul and'Lyttle, 9-5. Combined doubles: Miss Sheppard and Mr. Perkins defeated Mr. Bradley and Miss Whisker, 9-6; Miss Astle and Mr. Hay defeated Miss Brown and Mr. Thomas.. Men's singles: Perkins beat Bradley, 9-3; Hay beat Thomas; Hoben boat Paul, 9-5; Lyttle beat Clark, 9-7. The old'students lost only ono iriateh. Tho final gamo of tho tournament, a football matfth, is being played on tho Kelburn Park this afternoon.
