ATTEMPT TO STOWAWAY (By Tslepraph.) (Special to “Tho Evening Post.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Nicolo Katrani was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on 28th March for stowing away on tho Niagara. He had travelled from Naples to Auckland without the -payment of a fare. This morning he was sentenced to three months on the charge of being idlo and disorderly, plus another month for being aboard the Marama without lawful excuse.

When warned by a dotective to keep away from tho waterfront Katrani stated his intention of stowing away to Sydney. Ho boarded the Marama on Friday, and when the police called ho claimed that the purser had, his ticket. Katrini was a prohibited' immigrant, ,nnd tlie Customs headquarters had been communicated with, but no reply had been received. When the charges were being read and after tho sentence, Katrani became very excited and ■ at times blasphemous.
