AIRSHIP OUT* OF QUESTION
WASHINGTON, 14th May. Mr. C. D. Wilbur (Secretary of the Navy) has announced that naval tugs and coastguard craft have discontinued the search for Nungesser and Coli, owing to. fog and bad weather. He also
declared that the proposed flight of the dirigible Los Angeles to Labrador to seek the Frenchmen would be impossible. Rear-Admiral Andrews informed Mr. Wilbur that in the circumstances further search would be futile. RearAdmiral Moffatt declared that the Los Angeles ’ supply of helium was insufficient for the Labrador search.
