v RANUI LADIES’ CLUB The Flag Match played last Saturday resulted in a win for Mibb M'Kee, who was successful in carrying the flag to the twentieth fairway. A Canadian foursome match will be played next Saturday, the 21st inst. Following is the draw:—Mrs. Bakewell and Miss Davis v. Misses Bath and Wemyss; Misses Bunceliall and Howden v. Misses Avery and Hume; Miss Flanagan and Mrs. Hirßchberg v. Mrs. Carr and Miss Nash; Misses Turner and Campbell v. Misses Downes and Drake; Mrs. Moore and'Miss M'Kee y. Miss Coock and Dr. Bakewell; Mrs. Sloane and Miss Bowen v. Miss Young and Miss' W. Davis; Miss Lucena (game to be arranged). , FINE HUTT SCORING What would have been a record for the Hutt golf course had it been played in a competition was compiled by Rana Wagg during the week-end in a four-ball. The card read: Out, 3 4 3 2 3 6 4 4 3—32; in, 5 3 3 4 4 4 2 4 5—34; total, 66. The 6 at the sixth, which is one of the new' holes, with- newly-ploughed ground not far off the lines, is readily comprehensible to anyone who knows the hole, while the ,r > at the tenth was due to his tee shot rinding the bunker. Otherwise there were "o errors in the round, which included no long putts nor holed' mashie chips, but consisted of straight-out good golf. Bogey •"or the course is 74. The previous best ■ mateur card, which was a record, was 67. Brooks did the old course in 62, but it was much shorter both on that occasion and when the 67 was compiled. Harold Black did a 69 over the week-end, bogey or better at every hole. Scoring generally at the Hutt was good this week-end, a 19up, two 9-ups, and an 8-up on bogey being returned. Saturday’s play consisted of the two-life competition, which is not sufficiently advanced for analysis. MORNINGTON CLUB . At the Mornington Club during the week-end H. J. Shanks did a gross 69. Bogey is 73.
