Even a light meal should be eaten slowly and short rest taken afterwards, fifteen minutes being the shortest time suitable. To jump up straight from a meal and resume active work or exercise is to interfere seriously with the digestion. A novel type of taximeter supplies the passenger at the end of his journey with a printed ticket showing the exact amount of fare due.
