LABOUR MEETING
ENGLISH WOMAN ORGANISER.
An address of more than ordinary interest and importance will be delivered m the Trades Hall, 126, Vivian street, at 8 o'clock on Sunday evening, by Miss Mary Luty, formerly National organiser for the British Independent Labour Party. Hiss Luty wUT speak on "Industrial and Social Conditions in Canada, United States, and New Zealand." The speaker .has had n^ wide experience of factory conditions iv Great Britain, having been organiser for the textile workers for a number of years an well as an operative. She is at present on a world tour and has gained actual working experience in many industries and occupations during her journey, particularly on the American continent. In Canada she spent a considerable time in the wheat country on tho North Western prairies, and can give a vivid description of her -experiences and the Labour conditions there, particularly with reference to the various immigration schemes and their results. Miss Liity'also familiarised herself with existing conditions in' the cities o£ Canada and the United States. As an experienced organiser, investigator, and student of social conditions, her observations, opinions, and conclusions will be thoughtcompelling and valuable to all interested in economic and industrial problems. In addition to her other extensive organising experience in Great Britain, Miss Luty has done efficient and effective work in the election campaigns pf Mr. Philip Snowden, who was Chancellor of the Exchequer in the Labour Government.. The meeting is to be held under the auspices of the Wellington Women's Branch of the Labour Party.
