SINGAPORE BASE

DOMINION CONTRIBUTIONS

(A.P.A. and "Sun.")

(Received 30th April, 10.30 a.m.)

LONDON, 29th April. In the House of Commons, Lord Erskine inquired if Australia and New Zealand had offered to contribute to the cost of the Singapore Base; if so, how much, and under what conditions! Mr. Baldwin said: "As far as Australia is concerned, I must refer you to Mr. Bruce's statement at the Imperial Conference." Then he outlined Mr. Coates's recent announcement without comment.
