LOWER HUTT CLUB
The Lower Hut.t Croquet Club concludtLj reason _ with a social.afternoon in the club pavilion on Wednesday. A special afternoon tea wag provided by the members and a number of competitions were indulged m, the following being the winners :-Mesdames Bock, Hickson, Lees, Hendry, and Miss Maeaskill. The trophies for the events of the season were presented by the president, Mrs. W. J. Eddie and were as follows:—A grade championship, Mrs. E. Johnson (Guiness Silver Cup and Mrs Bock's trophy); runner-up, Mrs. W. Block (club trophy); B grade chamP'on^'P' Mrs Leigh ton (Bock silver cup and Mrs. Bock'si trophy}; A grade singles, Mrs. Parker (Mrs. Hickson's trophy); B handicap singles, first event, Mrs. Eddie (Mrs. Johnson's trophy); B handicap, second event Mrs. Leighton (Mrs. Parkers trophy) • Mr8 ._ Rowe, runner-up (Mrs. laikers trophy); intermediate event, Mrs. Parker (Mrs. Eddie's trophy);. club pairs, Mesdanies ■ Johnson and Rowc (club trophy); rimners-up, Mesdanies Ayson and Leighton (Miss Wilkins's trophy). The Misses Wilkins, who are leaving for an extended tour of the Old Country, were the recipients of gifts from the members, and the president wished them bon vovaijc and n safe return. The Misses Wilkms suitably replied.
