ST. MARK'S

At the annual meeting •of St. Mark's parishioners, held on Thursday night, the churchwardens' Teport and balance-sheet was adopted. The vicar (the Rev. H. E. K. Pry, M.A.) read his report, giving a resume o£ the church's work during the past year, referring particularly to the jubilee services, and aIBO to the teaching mission, conducted, by the Rev. Canon Maclean, vicar of Havelock North, in October. He asked all to stand while he mentioned the names of several closely identified with the life of the parish, who died during the year. The election of officers resulted: Vicar's churchwarden, Mr. W. J. Gaudin; parishioners' churchwarden, Mr. G. A. Kennedy; vestry, Messrs. Allen, Boyes, Button, Hampton, Hedges, Rawnsley, Rising, Siverson, W. Watkins, and Dr. Gordon Kemp.

Neither of the retiring wardens, Messrs. R. L. Button and A. P. Williamson, sought re-election. The vicar expressed the thanks of all parishioners to them for all the hard work they had put in for the parish for the past five years, as also to the choir, ladies'. sewing parties, Sunday School teachers, Bible class leaders, Scout and Guide officers,; members of Decorating Guild, etc. Special; mention was made of the contiuued success of St. Mark's Church School. The following were elected members of the School Committee: The vicar (ex officio), Mrs. Rcdward, Messrs. W. J. Gaudin, W. H. Madeley. and C. "W. Barltrop (absent in England).
