"THE BEST PEOPLE."

At the Grand Opera House to-morrow night, .for the first time in New Zealand, there will be seen Avery Hopwood and David James's record-breaking comedy, "The Best People," produced by E. J. Carroll's company of comedians, most of whom wil be making their first appeailance 'in New Zealand. "The Best People" is said to be ,one of those comedies that makos the audience laugh aloud. The comedy rushes along at a breathless rate. One of the most humorous scenes is in a cabaret, where the son of the house is dining with, a chorus girl, the daughter of the house is dining with a chauft'eur, and the father and mcle of the house are inextricably mixed up in the whole thing. "In the hands of less skilful authors," stated one writer, "it would have degenerated into a mere rough and tumble, a dashing in and out of doors, a dull farce of misunderstanding. As it was, it proved a delicately w"oven intrigue of humour and humanity, in which every character showed at his best or worst. Full justice is done to the various parts by the members of the company, including Miss Marian Lord, Mr. William Macaulay, Miss Helen Audiffred, Mr. Richard Ehlers, Mr. J. B. Rowe, Miss Beatrice Day, Mr. Robert Adams, Miss Marian Sterlvj Mr. Leslie Jones, Mr. H. Lane-Baytiff, Mr. Reginald Collins, a-.J Miss.Eileen Morris." The box plans are. rapidly filliiTg'at Tfte'Bristol. .;;
