Is America ready to give to the world a new industrial-social revelation? To test this question, the Commonwealth Government proposes to send to the United States an industrial delegation representative of both the employer and the employee; ptid. the Government hopes that the delegation may discover the secret whereby (it is said) the Americans, without any violent revolution or rupture of property laws, have succeeded in abolishing "ca'canny," and in getting both Capital and Labour to work, their best. But if the Americans have really succeeded in evolving a successful working basis between Capital and Labour, within the framework of the property lav,;s and of existing society, is it likely that such a discovery would be confirmed by an Australian delegate who has performed the Moscow pilgrimage and who has identified himself with the Russian revolution and with the Communist attitude to Western society? The difficulty implied "by this question arises because New South Wales labour bodies nominated Mr. J. S. Garden' as one of the Labour delegates.
