GRAND QUEEN CARNIVAL
"BRITANNIA" LEADS THE WAY.
The second poll of candidates in the Historic Queen.Carnival, preceding the Grand Military Tournament and Searchlight Tattoo to be held at Newtown Park in March next, took place at noon to-day. The candidates are:—"Britannia" (Miss Noeline Bevan), nominated by the Navy League; "Berengaria" (Miss Doreen M'Cubbin), nominated by the Bed Cross Society; "Margaret of Anjou," B.S.A. nominee;* "Queen Anne" (Miss Eileen Norwood), nominated by the Artillery units; "Queen Victoria" (Miss Muriel Prazer), nominated by the Community Club.
As a result of to-day's polling the positions of the candidates now stand as follow:—"Brjtannia," 1; "Queen Anne," 2; "Queen Victoria," 3. So far other candidates have not voted.
