LODGE MEETINGS

Wellesley Juvenile Lodge No. 7, 1.0.0. F., N.K., hold Its first meeting for the New Year last week, Bro. T. H. O'Brien, N.G., jirosldlng over a good attendance of juvenile and adult members. One Bro. was admitted to membership, and one juvenile candidate was nominated. : Half-yearly balance-sheet and returns were adopted, showing the lodge to have made very good membership progress, and to bo in a sound financial position. The -following juvenile officers were installed for tho term by the D.D.G.M. and District Lodge officers: Bros. J. H. O'Brien, J.P.G.; K. G. Tahiwi, N.G.; J. Evans, y.G.; H. Woolcott, . warden; K. S. Meech, chaplain; N. Boyd, 1.G.; W. Hare, 0.G.; L. Mackay, R. sec; L. Callashan, R.S.N.G.; A. Cavill, L.S.N.G.; M. Williams, R.5.0.G.; and A. Burgess, I.S.V.G. After completing business, a very successful social evening was held.

The fortnightly meeting of Esther Rebekah Lodge, No. 30, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Brooklyn, was held last week. Sister V. Newson, N.G., presiding over a' largo attendance,- visitors Including Sister B. Wheeler, N.G., and officers of Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge, Sister M. Pearson, N.G., and officers of Star of Petone Rebekah Lodge, Sister B. Phillips, N.G., and officers of Rahlri Rebekah Lodge, on official visits, and Bros. K. Tahlwl, P.G., J. H. West, P.G., P. J. Jones, P.G., R. W. Wheeler, P«G., and H.-Finch, P.D.D.G.JI. A member of tho Order was elected an associate member of'.tue lodge. In response to a letter from'P.S. Pinch, P.D.D.G.M.; G. J. Kerr, P.G.; A. P. Oldham, P.G., and J. F. Millar, P.G.L.P. The fortnightly meeting of Victoria Rebekah Lodge, No. 2, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held last Thursday evening, Sister St. Shepherd, N.G., presiding. There was a large attendance, visitors including Sister SI. Pearson, N.G., and officers of Star of Petone Rebekah Lodge, Sister I. Ledge, N.G., and officers of Esther Rebekab. Lodge, on official visits, also Sister E. Wheeler, N.Z., Roso of Wellington Rebekah Lodge, Sister M. Richmond, of Hlnekoa Rebekßh Lodfcc, Palnierston North, and Bros. & M'Donnell, N.G.-, and W. S. Brown, V.G., of Wildey Lodge. Quarterly accounts were passed, and one lady candidate was elected and obligated, two others also being nominated. Sister M. Shepherd was appointed delegate on U.T.S. Waiwetu Lodge, No. 136. 1.0.0.P., N.Z., trontham, held Us fortnightly meeting last Thursday evening, Bro. W. S. Cdwley, N.G presiding. An official visit was received from Bro. H. L. Rule, N.G., Heretaunga Lodge accompanied by Bros. W. 'Si Groudin, P.G., J. W. Pearson, P^G., and G. H. Bugg, P.G.. Three candidates were nominated. The fortnightly meeting of Otakl Lodge, No. 133, 1.0.0.P., N.Z., was held last Friday evenIng, Bro. H. Small, N.G., presiding over a large attendance of members, and visitors from Levin Lodge.. One candidate was nominated. The installation of the following officers for the term was carried out in regular form by the D.D.G.M. (Bro. H. Davies, P.G.), assisted by Bros. J. H. The annual meeting of the Loyal Wellington Past Grands' Lodge of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity, was held on Wed-' riesday evenirg in the Loyal Antipodean Lodgeroom. There was a splendid attendance, Bro. H. .R. Johnson,. tbe president, presiding. The first > part of the meeting was occupied with conferring past officers' degrees, Bro. J. 8. Wilejr, P.D.G.M., and ■Bro. 11.I 1. Taylor, P.G., acting as examining officers. Six members were duly honoured with the E.S. degree, five members were advanced to the V.G. degree, and four members took the N.G. degree, i The annual meeting was then proceeded with. The secretary read a letter of condolence sent to Mrs. French, on behalf of the lodge, on the death of her husband, Bro. W. G. French, P.D.G.M. As a mark of respect, the lodge stood in silence. The services, rendered by the late brother were spoken of by various members. /The balance-sheet showed the receipts ifo be £27 6s 6d, and the expenditure £25 18s lOd. The secretary reported that the membership showed a total of 82 active past ■ grands in the lodge. The services rendered by Bro. R. K. Coiiper, P.G., as secretary, were highly eulogised by various members, and'Bro. Couper expressedthanks for the way his efforts had been recognised. The following officers were installed for the ensuing twelve months, Bros. A.' C. Blair, 1.P.D.G.M., acting as installing officer, and Bro. J. U. Kraft, P.G., as conducting officer:—Bro. H. J. Dormer, president; Bro. R. Bell, vice-pre-sident; Bro. J. S. Wiley, lecture master; Bro: J. Saunders, /warden; Sister R. Paton, guardian; Bro. R. K. Couper, secretary; judges, Bros. J. S. Wiley, F. Taylor, and R. Bell; Management Committee, Bros. C. J. Burnett, F. Taylor, and E. Wells; trustees, Bros. W. Madeley, W. I. Clark, and J. SP Wiley. The installation was carried out in an impressive manner, Bro. Blair delivering an address to the officers, urging their keen interest. He trusted that their term would be for the advancement of the Manchester Unity principles. All officers suitably replied. Bro. H. R. Johnson, the retiring president, expressed his thanks to all mem/ bers for the support extended to him during his term, and wished that the same support would be extended to the present officers.
