BRITISH CARS
EEGOVERY IN AUSTRALIA In 1910 Australia imported 50 per cent, of her requirements in motor vehicles from Great Britain. At the end of the war so great had been the effects on the industry Js development in England that the British quota of our motoring requirements had shrunk to .07 per cent. A remarkable recovery is apparent in recent figures; however. The war just came at a critical time in the development of the British motor induatryf and gave it a check from which it is only now really recovering. From the number 2680 chassis imported 1 from Britain in 1923-24 the total has leaped up to .13,506 last year, with every prospect of this being eclipsed during the next twelve months. The actual figures for the past sixteen years, according to the British Manufacturers' Association, Ltd., aro given below. They disclose a splendid record of perseverance and success in the attempt of the British manufacturer to regain the ground which, as the earlier record shows, was completely lost during the war.
