LONDON WOOL SALES.
LONDON, 19th January. At the wool sales there wae a good general selection, and keen competition. Opening rates were fully maintained. New. Zealand sales: Piako, to 16d per lb, average 15d; Oweta, 18d to 17d; ST, IVM and 16d; Pine Farm, 23% d.

LONDON, 20th January. At the wool sales prices were very firm at full late rates, with a splendid selection of greasy crossbreds and a good lot ot greasy and scoured merinos. New Zealand "Opou," 15V4d and 14% d; Moko, 22% d, and 21% d. The Bradford market is firm, with very little business.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 19th January, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:—"Wool sales opened yesterday (Tuesday) with large attendance. Continental section well represented and excellent competition. Compared with closing rates for last series, finest merino 5 per cent, dearer; others, merino, fine crossbred, par to 5 per cent, higher; coarse crossbred and medium crossbred firm and unchanged. Total available for series 131,000 bales, of which 42,000 New Zealand, 81,000 Australian, and 4000 South American."
Messrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market quotation from their London agents: sG's yielding 60 per cent., opening present series 22d, closing November-December series, 21% d; 50's yielding 65 per cent.. 18d, 17& d; 44-46's preparing yielding 74 per cent., 143, 14d; 44-46's carding yielding 72 per cent., 13% d, 13ttd; 40-44's yielding 73 per cent., 13d, 13d."
