A LONELY ISLAND GRAVE _« _ Included iv tho pilgrimage of St. Barnabas, which visited Gallipoli war groves, waa a visit to Homer's "towerr ing crag of Skyros," where sleeps the poet Bupert Brooke. This would be a real pilgrimage in itself, for it meant a five hours' walk from the landing place to this lonely island grave, the white marble monument of which can just be seen from tho sea (says the "Daily Nowa"). It lies in an isolated spot at the deserted end of the island, but the valley in which tho grave is situated is covered with pale blue anomones, orchids, rock hyacinths, and such wild flowers as one finds rarely in Greece, while the perfume of wild thyme and mint, growing betwoen the bushes of wild olive, makes sweet tho breath of solitude, broken, only by tho cries of seagulls.
