PETONE RIFLE CLUB.

The Petone Rifle Club flred the opening match in the long range series on Saturday with two shoots of ten rounds each at SOO yards. The conditions generally were good, and the scores were mostly consistent and at times good. There was a very good attendance. The outstanding scores were N. Craig 49, A. Ballinger and W. M'lver 48, A. O'Donnell (twice), W. H. Ballinger, D. J. Outney, and A. Ballinger 47; N. Craig, with handicap, was top, and also wins the C Spoon; W. M'lver and A. O'Donnell both win A spoons; and H. L. Rulo the B spoon.

The veteran champion, A. Ballinger, again topped the score, and is shooting as well as at any period of his career, and must be reckoned with for the championship. Details: —

The weekly competition for the Jenness and Partridge Team Badges resulted in a win for W.- M'lver's team with 458 points (N. Craig 04, W. M'lver 94, A. O'Donnell 84, W. Jackson 91, W. Scambary 85), followed by W. H. Ballinger's team 448, R. H. Nicholas team 436, T. Warburton's team 435.

Next Saturday the musketry course will be fired, ranges 100 yards to 500 yards; total rounds to be flred, 33. This practice counts for Qualification and marksman.
