UTILISING AN ALMOST WASTE TIMBER.
"The New Zealand Industrial Bulletin" states that a well-known New Zealand sawmiler is trying to introduce to Sydney and other Australian markets "tawa flooring impregnated with a isniall percentage of creosote by tl;e method which he now seems to have practically perfected. Tawa certainly makes a splendid clean hard flooring, and with this new economic method of proofing it against borer and white ant attack there should he a great opening for this timber; and this in turn will convert many a bush in the North Island from a non-payable proposition, and it will increase the yield of useful timber per acre very considerably in many hushes now being worked where tawa is at present being left behind owing to complete lack of market."
