The track was again heavy and a portion of it for about a furlong near the turn was flagged off, the flags being about four feet out from the rails. Boomerday had one of his eyes knocked out while contesting the St. Andrew's Handicap. It was stated that one of the flag stakes was smashed by a horse in front, and a flying piece caused the trouble. Five favourites and two second favourites were successful, the only' outsider to score beiug Princess Bonhnie, who won the St. Andrew's Handicap. VAUXHALL HANDICAP. The bracket, Bahama-Waitelcphe, was .a shade better backed than- Cantab for the Vauxhall Handicap, with Anolo at a failprice. From a good start, Bahama was quickly in front to make tlie early running from Kyiigzone and Cantab, Kyngzono losing his position after going' it few furlongs. All started in the St. Andrew's Handicap, Ruapapa being a slightly better favourite than Nippy, with Mosaic also well backed, and the others at fait prices.
