MAORI PLAYER KILLED.

WANGANUI, This Day. A Maori youth, William Pirata, died ithe hospital on Saturday night as the result of injuries sustained in a Rugby match at Upokongaro in the afternoon, when he cannoned into another player. TE AWAMUTU, 3*d July. F. A. Johnson, a son of Mr. J., T. Johnston, of Pirongia, one of the Waipa Rugby representative players, had his jaw fractured during a match to-day. His injuries necessitated his removal to the Waikato Hospital.
