"LILAC TIME."
"Lilac Time," a musical play produced by Mr. Dion Boucicault (who supervised the present London production, now in its second year at the Lyric Theatre) for J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will be staged at the Grand/ Opera House next Saturday for a season of seven 'nights. It embraces a variety of melodious musical numbers that have rarely' been surpassed in the history of an Australian production of this description. The picturesque scenes are laid in Vienna, Ijhe story concerns the romance of Franz Schubert, the fani-.. ous composer, and the music is, therefore,' Schubert's. Several of his most favourite songs have been transferred intact from the concert platform and incorporated in the action of the play. Miss Adele Crane, a charming English actress, will appear as Lili, heir original London role. The remainder of the cast will comprise the principals of the Koyal Comic Opera Company, which is as follows: John Ralston, Claude Fleming, Herbert Browne, Harry Ratcliffe, Frank Leighton, Sydney Stirling, Arthur Stigant,. Molly Tyrell, 'Linda Foy, Eileen Dunne, Beryl Walkeley, Edmund Sherras, William Perryman, Herbert C. Walton, and.Katie Towers. The box plan will open on Wednesday for the season at The Bristol.
