In the "Monthly Bulletin of Information," compiled by tho British Department of Over- ' seas Trade, and forwarded by His Majesty's Trade Commissioner, occurs tho following : —lt has been made clear in recent statements by the President of the Board of Trade that His Majesty's Government does not propose for the time being to impose a quota system In the United Kingdom, under which a percentage of British pictures would have to be shown in every programme. It may he accepted that every avenue will bo explored by the British industry to attempt to secure a "place in the sun" for British Alms, and the co-operation of tho Government in any suitable scheme will bo sought. It is even posslblo that reciprocal arrangements with some' of the big American film interests may be secured.
