CLEARLY OUTPLAYED
COLLINS'S TACTICS COBBECT,
(Becd. 30th June, noon.) LONDON, 29th June,
C. Kelleway, writing in the "DailyExpress," says: "The Australians were -clearly outplayed, and only time saved them, together with England's wrong tnctics in not batting more recklessly and faster, especially after the Australians' total was exceeded in the afternoon. The game , then became match practice, for the Australians ■were necessarily restrained owing to Bardsley'a and Taylor's injuries, which probably prevented them from batting. Though a section of the crowd ironically cheered Collins for his defensive play, no fault could be found with his determination to stay long enough to make defeat impossible."
