MURITAI.
Only about twenty-five householders assembled at the Muritai householders' meeting. The report of the committee stated that an endeavour had been made to get the Education Board to purchase a section adjoining the school grounds on the southern side, for the purpose of school extension, but the board considered that the price was too high and nothing had so far eventuated. The roll, which had remained at a standstill for the past two years, last month showed an increase to ,343. Against this, however, was the fact that the school staff had been reduced by two owing to the abolition of pupil teachers. The .balance-sheet showed the finance of the committee to be in a satisfac-. Tory condition. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. ' ; The following committee was elected miopposed: Messrs. D. Bowie, W. L. Comrie, W. H. Dick, S. F. Fisher, R." Hull, W. C. Jones, D. Hope Lewis, E. G. Marsden, and E. W. Wise. y
