INTER-CLUB GAMES
RANUI BEAT MORNINGTON.
The weather held over the week-end till most matches were played on Sunday afternoon. Miramar, Hutt, and Johnsonville held competitions on Saturday, and Ranui played Mornington at Ranui, where rolling and cutting have greatly improved the fairways, over the week-end. Following are the detailed results:— A bogey competition at Miramar was won by J. H. Crake (scratch) with the fine card of 72, 7 up. Other results were: C. H. Armstrong (5), 2 up; G. G. Rose (18), A. M. Anderson (14), L. J. Egleton (12), and H. A. Brown (14), 1 up; E. O. Hales (4), A. Marsden (7), G. W. Magnus (9), A. D. Carson (9), and L. D. Hurst (2), all square. Drake narrowly missed breaking 70. He was on the green at the sixth from the tee, but missed a short putt. A bad stance from a long drive at "The Crater" was the cause of a bad second, and his third out of the rough was short. His card, with bogey figures in parentheses, was:—Out 4 (5), 4 (4), 5 (5), 3 (4), 3 (4), 4 (3), 5 (5), 3 (4), 5 (5), 36 39). Bennett, all square. B. Swift lost to T. Jameg, 4 and 2. J. D. Flanagan and W. Hook, all square. R. Cheyne lost to R. B. Gibbons, 2 and 1. T. Davis and J. Colwill, all square. J. Marshall lost to H. Dodds, 7 and 6. ■ J. Coutts beat C. Gill, 6 and 5. W. E. Budd beat L. Bath, 6 and 5. J. D. Sievwright beat J. Weir, 4 and 2. M. Bird beat D. Morrison, 8 and 6. Mornington 5 games, Ranui 7 games, 4 games squared. The game between Shanks and Daniell was a close one. Shanks, who returned a bogey 77 in a stiff wind; arid was 3 up at the turn, going out in 40. . He won the tenth, and the next wag halved in 4's, but Daniell won the next three in 2, 4, 3, bringing Shanks down to 1 up. The next three were halved, and Shanks won the eighteenth. Daniell did the last nine in bogey figures ■ (36), returning an 80 for the round. MIRAMAR LADIES' CLUB. * Following is the Flag Competition draw for Messrs.
