INSTITUTE WIN FROM DIAMONDS.

Institute defeated Diamonds at Association Park by 2 goals to nil, after a hard game. Both teams played bright football, and in the first spell no score was registered. Halfway through the second spell, Hearne, of Diamonds, had to retire with an injured knee. Institute brightened and Jeffreys and May scored. The game was played under good conditions. Tarrant and Cutler, the goalies, played great games, and were responsible for keeping the scores down. M'Leod, Hearne 3 and Bolt were the pick of the Diamonds, and Smith, Bell, and Jeffreys were prominent for Institute.

1 Mr. E. Ormrod was the referee.
