PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
First ."National's feature film, "Shore Leave," which opened at the ■ Paramount Theatre last evening, provides an ideal starring vehicle for Richard. Bartlielmess, who reveals himself in an unexpected light as a comedian of no mean talent. "Bilge" Smith is an ordinary American "gob," ordinary in the sense that he has a girl in every port and car. forget them until his ship happens to put into that particular harbour again. Connie Martin is a dressmaker with a yearning for the open sea, and she falls in love with the unpretentious "Bilge," who has-no intention in the world of "getting spliced." Dorothy Mackail] is delightful as Connie. The supporting bill includes a fiaumont Graphic, an amusing "Hodge-Podge," and a lengthy "Felix, the Cat" cr.rtoon. "Lutspici" is played by the Paramount Orchestra as an overture, and "' Mexicali R. :e ' as an entr'acte. • ■
