The Avondalc Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting opened to-day at Ellerslio. There was a shower before the first race. The course was good, and there was a fairly good attendance. Results:— Maiden Plate, of 200 soys; seven furlongs.—Te Koroke, 7.11, lj Bahama, 8.5, 2; Star Comet, 7.11, 3. Scratched: Coconut. Won by a head. Time, lmin 29sec.

Hobsonville Hurdles, of 300 soys; one mile and three-quarters.—King's Guard, 10.6, 1; Archibald, 10.11, 2; Explorer, 10.13, 3. Scratched: Kendal, Daddy's Girl. Won by a length. Time, 3min 12 4-ssec.

Foley Memorial Handicap, of 700 soys; 1} miles.—Desert Glow, 7.10, 1; Mask, 8.12, 2} Hipo, 7.3, 3. Scratched: Spoony, Muscari, Baceful. Won by a head. Time, 2min 7 3-ssec.
