ESSAY COMPETITION

Recently the Wellington Acclimatisation Society offered prizes for the best essays on the subject of '' Sport with rod and gun in the Hutt Valley." The competition aroused keen interest among the boys of the upper classes in the Central Hutt School, and Mr. 1.111 M'Kay, a member of the society, addressed the boys upon the work of the Acclimatisation Society. The'essays were judged by Dr. Anson (president of the society) and Mr. M'Kay, and they expressed their app ?ciation of the high standard shown by the writers.
