BOXING
Salvino Jamito, who has fought every prominent-lightweight of the last five or six years, and probably holds the record for the number of appearances at the Sydney Stadium, will make his first appearance in Wellington on Monday, the 19th inst. His opponent is Reg. Trowern, and this will be the first time Trowern has been opposed, to a really hard-hitting visitor, and his many admirerß will watch with more than usual interest how he adapts himself to the vigorous onslaughts for which Jamito: is lioted. The box plan will open on Tuesday morning, and regular patrons should make a point of booking at once. In - response to an appeal on behalf of the Karitane-Plunket activities, the Boxing Association has decided to donate one-half of the proceeds of the tournament to that worthy object.
