ENGINEER CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, 29th March. At the conclusion of the inquest on the death of Frederick Witty, who wa3 killed on the North road on Bth March, the Corner returned a verdict that deceased met his death through being run over by a car driven by John Guy Dennison. Dennison is the engineer engaged by the Southland County Council to supervise the work of bituminising the North road. The evidence, showed that the deceased, who was riding a bicycle, had been struck from behind and thrown against the windscreen. Dennison has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter. Ho was admitted to bail on one surety of £200 and remanded to appear on 7th April.
