ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Six thousand people attended a public welcome to the new Bishop of Christchurch last evening, in the King Edward Barracks. All denominations were represented, and there was marked enthusiasm. The Mayor, Mr. J. K. Archer, who spoke for the city, said he trusted that,the stay of the bishop and his family would be as long as that of their predecessors, and that each year would bring to them increased happiness and honour.
