NOTES.
Although Quillfire suffered a couple of reverses at the Xaranaki Meeting, he is capable of better deeds, and may be one of those to show improved form at the corning Stratford Meeting.
The WsngaiiuJ-trained Elysianor was vei'y unlucky an each of his starts at the recent Taratiaki Meeting, and should he retain liis form must .prove'hard'to beat in the races confined to- maiden performers at the Stratford Meeting on Friday and .Saturday.- . ■ . Many consider Irapuka holds an excellent chance in the Stratford Cup on Friday, but after ■ seeing this gelding at the.Taranaki Meeting he can be written out of his immediate engagements.
Income has a host of admirers for the Stratford Cup, and certainly won nicely at New Plymouth on Saturday, but the class of horses he defeated was not good. Seeing that Income has not done a solid preparation owing to leg trouble, Olympic and Blight Day, at least, may be more than a match for the Taranakiowned gelding. ,
