WELLINGTON BEATS HAWKES BAY
NAPIER, 28th December. A one-day match was played here today between Wellington and Hawkes Bay. The visitors batted well, and won b% (5 runs. Batting first, Wellington ran up 239 of which 83 were contributed I y Murphy, who batted nicely throughout. Dempster (53) and Blundell (37) also batted well. Elliott took five wickets for 55 runs, and Holt one for 29. Hawkes Bay scored 164 (Holt 30, Elliott 30, Davis 30, Owen 23, O'Brien 17)
