REGATTA AT WAIRAU

WELLINGTON ROWERS SUCCESSFUL.

BLENHEIM, 26th Dec,

The Wairau Regatta was held to-day in perfect weather. Star (Wellington) had four starts and four wins, annexing the Youths' Fours, Junior Fours, Maiden Fours, and Junior Pairs. Star showed superior oarsmanship and condition, and the victories they secured were well earned. The Wellington Club's representatives won the Single Sculls.

The Star Club's crews in the various events were:—Youths' Fours: Cook (str.), Williams (2), Dumbleton (3), and Hislop (bow). Junior Fours: Newton (str.), Dumbleton (3), M'Lean (2), and Hislop (bow). Junior Pairs: Newton (str.) and M'Lean (bow). Maiden Pairs : Cook (str.) and Williams (bow). The Wellington Club's representatives in the Single Sculls were West and Bright.
