Fielden Taylor writes as follows regarding the benefit performance to be given at the Opera House for ;i widow: —Please allow me, through the valuable columns of your paper, to draw the attention of jour readers to the benefit advertised in another column on behalf of a widow who is personally known Ito me. About threo months ago this woI uinn lost her husband through t.nberculo|*sis, leaving her with a crippled daughtec and a son who was then just 16. During the present month the sou developed appendicitis and died in the Public Hospital. The woman had "been to work, let a room in her house, and the boy gave her all his wages. The shock has totally unnerved her, and she is still in a serious condition.
