QUEEN'S THEATRE.
An unusually strong Paramount programme will be shown to-night at the Queen's Theatre, headed by the thrilling production, ' "Contraband." This photoplay was adapted from the gripping novel of the same name by Clare'uee Budington Kelland by Jack Cunningham. The story has, lost none of its vitality in the process of transference to the-screen, and * Alan Crosland, the director, has taken full advantage of the many opoprtunities the plot affords,- so that from start to finish the picture is an alternating succession of gasps and chuckles. It is a rousing romance oi a girl who fought a gang of crooks and" a big smuggling ring and~"woniv There are thrills aplenty and breathless nionients in this powerful photoplay, which culminates in a whirlwind climax. Raymond Hatton and Lois Wilson are featured with Noah Beery and . Raymond M'Kee. Others in : the cast include Charles Ogle, Edward ' Davis,' Lillian Leighton, and Alphonse Ethier. A noteworthy supporting programme will also be seen. A special children's matinee will be held to-morrow.at 2.15.
