QUEENSLAND TEAM ARRIVES,
The Queensland, League football team which is making a tour of the Dominion' arrived in Wellington this afternoon from ithe Auckland province", where; a series of matches was played. ■: The party comprises' 21 players, with Messrs. H; Sunderland and J. Doyle as joint managers, and ia number of enthusiasts. ' A formal welcome was extended to the visitors on arrival by Messrs. Tuohy (Wei-' lington Bugby League) and De Wolfe (New Zealand Eugby. League Council). This evening tho Queenslanders will be the guests of the Wellington Rugby League-at a smoke concert, in Gamble and • Creed's,, rooms, Lambton quay, and to-morrow'at 10 a.m. they will be tendered a Parliamentary reception. At 12.30 to-rribr-row a civic, reception will take place. in the I,Town Hall Chamber. The form of the Queenslanders is' reported :to y be of the highest prderj. and a sample of it will be supplied at Newtown Park on Saturday afternoon, when they will be opposed by a combined New Zealand team. The latter will be representative of the Dominion; as .the selection is to be made upon the following basis:— Auckland four players,, South Auckland three players, Wellington throe players, and Canterbury five players. It is, anticipated that this game alone will be a special attraction, but to add to the afternoon's sport the final of the Chatham Cup 'Association football competition is also being staged, the contestants in this game being: YiM.C.A. (Wellington) and Seacliff (Otago). The' association game is to commence at 2.30 p.m. and the Leaguo game at 3.15 p.m.
