LONDON, 27th May. Mr. Lee Shubert, who controls three hundred theatres in tho Uiiited States has purchased half-shares in three London theatres—His Majesty's, the Shaftsbury and the Wintergarden—hitherto owned by Grossmith, Malone, Limited. Mr. Shubert proposes to exchange plays between London and America, in alliance with Grossmith, Malone Ltd
Mr. Leo Sluibert began with his brother, the late Sam S. Shubort, managing small theatrical companies on tour, with comedies written by Charles H. Hoyt He became manager of theatres at Syracuse and New York, and is now at the head of the Shubert Theatrical Company which controls many theatres in New lork and other cities.
