LONDON, 25th May. The British Eihpire Shopping Week was inaugurated at a gathering of the British Women's Patriotic League, at which Mr. Amery, Colonial - Secretary,' lectured on Empire trade. 'HH p said the most hopeful sign in our economic difficulties was the fact that women were •waking up to a consciousness of their power, of developing the Empire. He appealed to women to make a determined effort, when shopping, to ascertain whether they were purchasing Empire goods.
