BUTLER BENEFIT MATCHES.
The opportunity of seeing two firstclass teams in action at the Basin Reserve next Saturday should prove a big attraction to followers of the game of Association football, and for those who attend there will be the added satisfaction of knowing that they are assisting a very worthy cause. The Wellington Football Association has agreed to stage an attractive programme at the Basin in order to assist the Butler Benefit Fund, and provided the weather conditions are favourable there shriild be a largo attendance of the general public. The main match will be that between V.M.C.A. and Institute, and a close and interesting. contest should be the result. V.M.C.A. are the present championship leaders, having gone through the season so far without defeat, and Institute are- improving with every game. In their last two matches they have held Marist and Thistle to drawn games, and it will bo interesting to see how they fare against such an experienced and clover sido as V.M.C.A. In an early match V.M.C.A. (C) will meet Brooklyn, and these two B division teams may be relied upon to give a good account of themselves.
