WELLINGTON CLUB.

The Wellington Harrier Club held a two and a half mile novice handicap from Miramar terminus on Saturday Eleven runners # faced the starter, Mr. G. HiJliker. The limit man, Hennessy, with a handicap of 2min 20sec, made good use of his handicap,, and led the field at a good pace for about a mile, when Weston, Ware, and some of the back men began to close in. On entering tlio straight Hennessy was still in tho lead, with Weston pressing him hard, but the effort was too great for the latter, and Hennessy ran out a winner by about 30 yards from Weston, with Ware third. Of the scratch men, E. Green put up tho best effort, but Williams, with a start of 35sec, put up fastest time, 17min 11

On Saturday week the Press Oup is set down for decision, and all those wishing to take part will enter not later than Saturday, 30fch May
