REJECTED AT WEMBLEY
MATRIMONIAL BUREAU SCHEME.

LONDON, 17th May. The Wembley authorities have rejected a scheme to establish matrimonial bureaux for the. purpose of bringing the domesticated maidens o£ Britain into touch with Colonials. The promoter of the scheme undertook to erect dancing marquees, and even suggested that overseas visitors might select wives for friends who were unable to odme to come to Wembley. He also stipulated for a percentage of the profits, pointing out that the scheme would result in an enormous attendance and would thus wipe off the debts of the Exhibition.
