EASY WIN FOR HOSPITAL.

Association matches on Saturday were played in fine weather but on heavy grounds. Generally, the standard of play was high, and spectators found much to interest them. The surprise of the day was brought off by Institute who drew with Marist after a lively struggle which was marred in the early stages by a serious accident which befel one of the Institute men, N. Smith. The accident left Institute to carry on with ten men. Another drawn game was, that in which Diamonds and Thistle were engaged. The teams were evenly matched. Diamonds held the advantage at half-time" by one goal, but Thistle asserted themselves in the second and managed to draw level just on time. Hospital had another runaway victory, accounting for Watersiders by eight goals to nil, and V.M.C.A. defeated Scottish Wanderers by five goals to one. Results at a glance are as follow;—
