Traffic on the -main North road, between New Plymouth and Te Kuiti, was blocked.: to-day, the heavy rain bringing down slips on.'the :souUi";-side of Mount Messenger. The Mokau River is impassable. Further slips occurred on the Awakino Valley roadi. and the maO'cars were blocked to-day. A servico connection with Te Kuiti is not expected before Monday.
