The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, lmb received, the.'following advico from its London '.office, under date 4th February :—"Cuircnt quotations; Good muttun, 62s to 6Ss" per cwt; good beef, 50s Bd to 61a per cwt; gqod mixed, 50s to 60s (id per cwt:, gut, 40s to 46s per. cwt." Messrs: Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London • bouse, under date of; the 4th February :—"Tallow: 800 casks of tallow ottered; 250 casks sold." ■ y ' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house, under date 4th February :—"Tallow: We'quote present spot values for: the following descriptions: Fine mutton, 54s per cwt; good beef, 51s per cwt; mixed, 15s per cwt. . Market quiet." i
HEMP GRADINGS. Hemp graded during January, 1024, was 8551 tons us compared with 5398 bales graded last month, an increase of 2847 bales. Tow graded nmnuntcd' to 2101' bales last month, an increase on January, 1024, of 673 bales. STATE OF BUTTEKMAKKKT. Messrsi Joseph Nathan and Co., ltd., have received the following cable from their London lionise, dated 4th February :—"New Zealand butter, IMs to 100s: market quiet. Argenttne temporary short supply owing to drought, but output now Increasing." The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports, London, 4th February:—"New ■ Zealand Dairy Produce: Butter, choicest Falted. Is(is to IGOb per cwt; market steady; choicest, unsaltcd, owing to shortage In Argentine, 180s per cwt. Cheese: 04s to o!is per cwt; market firm."
