LONDON NIGHT CLUBS
POLICE CARRY OUT RAIDS.

LONDON, 2nd February. The London police in the early hours thia morning made two raids on night clubs. The first was in Long Acre, where the names of 30 dancers were taken.
The second was in v Chancery Lane. Motor tenders occupied every side street, then the police rushed the hall, and found 200 people around the dance floor. JMfty-nine men, women, and girls found m possession of liquoi' were taken to the policy station. These, together with the proprietors of the clubs, were summoned to Bow~ street, some appearing in fancy diess. The dancers were mostly fined 40s.
The prosecution alleged that it was a bogus club to which anyone could be admitted gratis, and in which they could buy any kind of liquor. The cases against the proprietors and othera were adjourned.
