NEW VICAR OF WANGANUI
(FROM OUR OWN COKRBSPOSDBNI.)
LONDON, 18th September. It is announced that the Rev. Ralph Creed Meredith, M.A., previously in charge of the Conventional District of Bourneville, in the diocese of Birmingham, has been appointed vicar of Wanganui by the Bishop of Wellington. Mr. Meredith, who will sail on 16th October, has been in Birmingham for five years. He was a curate at Harborne for a brief period, and then received the Bournvilie appointment, which he has held for four years. The opinion is expressed that his stay there has been notable by a preat development oE church activity, and influence in the district, culminating in the building of the new church, which is to be consecrated in the early spring. His departure will delay by" a few months the creation of a separate Bournvilie parish. Preparations for this important step were recently made, but it is expected that the creation of the new parirh will jiot now be undertaken before the new "church is consecrated.
