You can make your shopping basket a thing of beauty and prolong its life by colouring it in the following manner :— Ghooao the colour that blends best with your own general colour scheme 'in clothes. Buy a small tin of enamel of the required hue, stir up the enamel with a stick, and if it appears to be toothick bring it to the consistency of cream by adding a. few drops of turpentine. Apply the first coat to the basket (which we assume is the ordinary dull brown.article) with a cornel hair brush, working it well into the crevices. Then hang the basket in ,ii; ni-.-y place to dry.
